Event DescriptionDistant Drums 2012 is hosted by the Phoenix Drumline as part of its 2012 winter performance schedule. The Phoenix Drumline is an independent community drumline, established in 1992 to provide musical opportunities through percussion to students in grades 7 to 12. Members are from Hutchinson, Glencoe, Silver Lake, Norwood/Young America, and Chaska.
Distant Drums is the homeshow performance for the winter season of the Phoenix Drumline, and includes drumlines from across Minnesota. Last year ten drumlines performed including Dassel-Cokato, Henry Sibley High School, Rocori, THE HERD from Buffalo High School, Totino Grace Percussion Ensemble, Albany Area High School, Night Fire Winter Drumline, Forest Lake, River Valley Percussion Theatre, as well as the Phoenix Drumline.
