DESCRIPTION:If you have ever said\, "I wish I could draw" \n\nBeginning Drawing Techniques   Botanical Themes\n\nSaturday\, October 21st 11am   2pm \n\nDrawing is a skill everyone can learn. In this fun\, introductory workshop  .\n\nwith artist Shelley Caldwell you will spend the afternoon building your skills and gaining confidence. Shelly will introduce the basics of drawing through the exploration of materials. You will learn observational drawing techniques and experiment with improvisational mark-making to create your own expressive botanical drawings. Enjoy a relaxing\, encouraging environment with a no fear necessary atmosphere. This class is designed for those with little to no experience or anyone seeking to refine or refresh their skills.\n\n \n\n\n$35 member /$45 not yet a member\n\nOpen to those 17 and older. Studying liberal arts and graduating with honors\, Caldwell received her Associate of Arts degree from Ridgewater College of Hutchinson\, MN in 2012. She then continued her studies at Minnesota State University\, Mankato (MNSU)\, where she earned an art department scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (concentrating on drawing and painting) in 2015. She was awarded a teaching fellowship for her pursuit of a Master of Arts degree at MSU Mankato where she focused on installation & drawing\, graduating in 2017. Shelley has shown her work throughout the greater Minnesota community in venues such as the 410 Project\, Emy Frentz Gallery\, Carnegie Art Center\, The Grand Center for Arts & Culture\, and others. Surrounded by the landscape which inspires her most\, she presently works from her family farm in rural Faribault County.
