Sarah and Cara have a particular passion, area of expertise and an extensive history in working with children, teens, and families who have experienced or are anticipating the death of a loved one. They have both dedicated their professional career to the area of dying, death and grief as hospice social workers, school grief counselors, authors, and local/national speakers. They are also certified in trauma and crisis work as field traumatologists through the American Green Cross.
Participants will gain knowledge of:
¨ Grief, anticipatory grief and grief triggers.
¨ Increased awareness of mental health issues as they relate to grief.
¨ The importance of connecting bonds between those who are grieving and the person who is deceased.
¨ Ways to support grieving children, teens and families utilizing different modalities.
