Ridgewater College invites the public to the 15th Annual Multimedia Design Portfolio and Student Art shows on Wednesday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hutchinson campus front concourse.
The Multimedia Design Technology Portfolio is a visual representation of professional design, featuring new and upcoming designers. The Portfolio Show allows graduating students an opportunity to show their cutting-edge multimedia skills. This event is the high point showcasing two or more years of intense education and skill development. Guests will see some of the best and brightest new designers in the field of multimedia. This year’s event promotional poster was designed by participant Megan Kammermeier.
A digital portfolio is a collection of creative assets distributed via computer-based media. These portfolios may include photography, illustration, graphic design, web design, interactivity, animation, fine art, audio material and video. Portfolios are bound together by the personality and goals of those who created them.
The Art Department will also host its annual Student Art Exhibit. Through a juried selection process, student pieces will be exhibited in the campus gallery the first week of May. Works include drawings, painting, original prints, creative digital work and sculpture. Awards will be announced for the juror’s choices.
This event is free. For more information, contact Amy Jo Maher at amyjo.maher@ridgewater.edu or Andrew Nordin at Andrew.nordin@ridgewater.edu.
