Practice yoga while immersing yourself in art. During these one hour yoga classes you will experience a variety of properly sequenced yoga poses suitable for beginning to intermediate level students. A short pranayama (breathing technique) to help you balance your energy (prana), and a short meditation will also be offered. The ability to get up and down from the ground is required. Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one, a blanket, and wear comfortable clothes and socks. On cold days you may wish to bring extra layers to wear during meditation. Some yoga mats and blankets will be available.
Cost: $10 per class session. Pay Irene at beginning of class.
Irene Genelin is honored to share her life and work as examples of health for all humans. She has her 500 hour yoga teacher training certification from Devanadi School of Yoga in Minneapolis, and credentials as a Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist (AYS) through the Himalayan Institute. She has been practicing yoga since 2008, teaching since 2011, and meditating daily since 2013. She incorporates breath (pranayama), ayurvedic principals, and meditation in her yoga classes and encourages her students to take these teachings into their daily lives. When she isn’t teaching or practicing yoga she is an organic fruit farmer with her husband at York Farm, mother to her one year old daughter, and cooks up healthy, seasonal, and local food in her kitchen which she writes about on her food blog.
