Hand Building & Wood/Soda Firing with Webster Pottery

This is a multi-session class designed to fully immerse participants in creating pottery.
-3 class sessions learning and creating pottery pieces.
-3 sessions (2 optional) kiln operation, loading/unloading.

Have you ever wanted to try making pottery? Are you interested in learning more about how to create a functional piece from the very beginning all the way through the firing? This is your chance! In this in-depth class, you will be introduced to a variety of pottery techniques including slab-building, using colored underglazes, and layering imagery to create unique pieces. You’ll have the opportunity to use the potter’s wheel as a tool to decorate and add feet to your pieces. You’ll also learn about glazing pots and loading kilns. The class will culminate in a wood/soda firing where you can see the process in action!
