Hutchinson Food Drive Challenge
Benefiting the McLeod County Emergency Food Shelf
March 1 – 31, 2010
Collection Goal of 3 lbs per resident (45,000 lbs total)
The Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce, CVB and Local Businesses are teaming up with Glencoe, Winsted, and Lester Prairie for the Second Annual McLeod County Food Drive Challenge.
Last year this program raised over 75,000 pounds of food, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items for the McLeod County Emergency Food Shelf. This year the public need is even greater. The goals for this year is at least 3 lbs. per resident for each community, with bragging rights going to the community with the most donations per capita.
Items donated in March are matched pound for pound by Minnesota FoodShare, a state-wide program that promotes food shelf donations. Cash donations count too! One dollar is equivalent to one pound of food.
