    The McLeod County Historical Society would like to invite you and your family to our 2009 Annual Meeting.  This year's dinner and program will be hosted by the ZCBJ Lodge at the Komensky rural schoolhouse site.  As a part of our 2009 Historical Theme, "Fraternal Orders of the McLeod County," the Lodge was one of fifteen organizations that we researched and highlighted throughout the year.  Unlike many of the groups, the ZCBJ Lodge is still active in the county and has a strong membership.

    Social hour will begin at 5 PM with music by Jim Wendolek, Wayne Miska, and Bernie Williams.  Jim plays the concertina and has performed for many of the Lodge's other programs and functions at the Komensky school.  Wayne, who plays drums, and Bernie, who plays the horn, are long time members of the ZCBJ Lodge.

    Dinner will be served at 6 PM, catered by Joanie's Catering of Hutchinson, MN.  Joanie will be serving roast beef and turkey, rosemary roasted  potatoes, honey glazed carrots, your choice of coffee or apple cider and pumpkin pie for derssert.  Each meal will be $10 per person, with the drinks included.

    After dinner Anne Hahn will present the history of the Komensky rural schoolhouse and share the exciting news of its placement of the National Register of Historic Places.  Then the ZCBJ Lodge members will give us a historical look at their organization and its growth and impact in Hutchinson and the surrounding communities.

    Next the Museum Director will present the Volunteer and Donor of the Year Awards, along with the winners of our youth coloring contest.  Stan Ehrke, our board president, will call our Annual Meeting to order and candidates for our 2010 Museum Board of Directors will be presented, with an election to follow. Stan will then give his report of 2009 and Gerard Stifter, board treasurer, will present the treasurer's report.  The Exective Director will follow up with a review of Museum goals accomplished and the exciting goals set for next year!  We hope you will join us to celebrate another great year!
