One of the Museum's most important missions is to preserve the history of McLeod County. A large portion of that history is in the documentation of the families who have lived, and now live in our county.
So we here at the Museum want to help educate and encourage this important way for people to
connect, share and tell their own family story. Photos and documents have always been collected by families, but too often, they can end up lost, unidentified, or thrown out by mistake. Scrapbookers do not let this tragedy happen! Scrapbooking gives people a creative and fun way to organize their photos and important documents into collections of books. Today's scrapbookers are also more aware of how important it is to use archival safe products to ensure that their treasured memories are not damaged by acidic chemicals that can discolor and ruin all their hard work.
This is why we are offering our 'Preserve Your Family History, Scrapbooking Day', using our large Museum Meeting Room. With over twenty, 6 ft. long tables to spread out and work at, it's the ideal place to scrapbook! Our Meeting Room usually runs $150 per day to rent, but you can reserve your table for just $30. (Limit two guests per table) This also includes lunch (please add an extra $5 for guest sharing a table), guest speaker presentations, and the chance to win free scrapbooking supplies to be drawn throughout the day. We have just twenty-five spots, so be sure to stop in or mail in your $30 to reserve your table.
