Job Summary
Join our growing online Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and Mechanical Design program and help shape the next generation of design professionals. We’re looking for two experienced designer who loves sharing their knowledge and wants to help students build real-world skills using tools like AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, and Creo. In this full-time faculty role, you’ll teach fully online in an asynchronous format, guiding a wide range of learners, from beginners to working professionals, through topics such as mechanical design, ASME standards, GD&T, and engineering documentation. You’ll also develop and update courses, stay connected to industry needs, and collaborate with our advisory committee to keep the program current and relevant. Our students come from all over the country and many balance school with work and family. You’ll play a key role in supporting their success by mentoring them, creating clear and engaging learning experiences, and encouraging them to use the college’s support services. Minimum Qualifications (required skills to enter the job; must be identified on application materials)
Education Requirement
- Associate's degree from a mechanical drafting and design program.
- Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in mechanical drafting and design.
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
