SWIF’s new Director of Entrepreneurship Finance will play a pivotal leadership role in driving access to capital and technical assistance to entrepreneurs throughout our region to foster economic vitality for communities and families. This position engages with prospective and existing small business owners, commercial lenders, economic development organizations, and technical assistance partners to advance our vision of a region where all people can thrive and to support the successful launch of our emerging Community Development Financial Institution.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of three years’ experience in banking or commercial business finance and working directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners. A demonstrated passion for rural entrepreneurship and economic development is a must! Essential for success is a demonstrated ability to act independently, apply discretion and confidentiality, think critically and analytically, negotiate, and persuade, in addition to strong situational awareness and self-awareness to act empathetically in difficult and complex situations. A strong understanding of credit analysis and commercial finance, business operations and management, and business technical assistance is essential, in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion to reimagine processes and systems .
