We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Human Resource Generalist who is passionate about empowering employees and strengthening workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who values fairness, consistency, and collaboration, and who takes pride in guiding both employees and leadership through effective policy administration and HR best practices. You will play a key role in shaping the employee experience, supporting professional growth, and ensuring that policies and programs are applied with integrity and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall leadership and direction of training programs, continuing education and employee development.
- Assist executive management in fostering and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
- Administer payroll and benefits ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Partner with vendors to evaluate and implement benefit offerings while maintaining accurate records, ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Lead recruitment efforts, including conducting interviews and facilitating onboarding.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, and workplace issues.
- Assist in identifying and developing talent within the organization.
- Apply knowledge of union policies to ensure compliance with labor contracts, support grievance resolution, arbitration, and
- Prepare, update, and maintain employee handbooks and HR policies.
- Plan and coordinate employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives to promote engagement, morale, and well-being.
- Partner with leadership to design and implement HR strategies that align with company goals.
- Represent the company at community events, job fairs, and other outreach opportunities to strengthen employer branding and support workforce development.
- Manage company social media platforms to promote the brand, support sales efforts, and enhance the company’s professional image.
The Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent HR experience.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other relevant HR certification strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience in union environments preferred.
