Goebel is seeking an Installation Field Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As a forward-thinking company, we value a positive attitude, self-motivation, and drive. The Installation Supervisor oversees and manages all on-site field activities related to fixture and millwork installation. Key responsibilities include:
- Layout and measuring
- Templating
- Delivery coordination
- Scheduling and project tracking
- Installation oversight
- Ensuring safety compliance
- Reporting and documentation
This role is critical in ensuring timely, high-quality installations and a seamless experience for our clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Crews: Supervise teams of 2 to 15 carpenters, providing coaching, mentoring, and training based on the scale and complexity of each project.
- Hands-On Installation: Perform installation tasks as needed to support project goals and timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with both internal departments and external project partners to ensure alignment and project success.
- Project Execution: Deliver projects on time and within budget, consistently meeting or exceeding quality standards.
- Field Activity Oversight: Actively monitor day-to-day operations at job sites to ensure progress aligns with project plans and timelines. Provide timely updates and documentation using tools such as email, phone, project management platforms, and other communication technologies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Foster clear, consistent, and professional communication with all project stakeholders—including general contractors, site superintendents, subcontractors, internal departments, and clients—to ensure alignment, address issues proactively, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct field audits to ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce all company safety policies, including housekeeping practices, on-site safety meetings, inspections, compliance checks, and incident reporting and investigations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all installation work complies with applicable governmental regulations and OSHA guidelines.
- Crew Administration: Support onboarding, payroll processing, and termination procedures for installation team members.
- Talent Evaluation: Assess crew capabilities and align skillsets with project-specific requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving field operations, efficiency, and service quality.
- Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Field Services Manager.
Position Requirements
- Industry Experience: Minimum of five years in millwork installation and/or construction supervision, with a strong foundation in finish carpentry.
- Travel Commitment: Willing and able to travel extensively (100% travel required).
- Confidentiality: Demonstrates professionalism in managing confidential information.
- Leadership Ability: Proven track record of effectively leading and motivating teams in a field environment.
- Collaborative Mindset: Skilled at working in cross-functional teams, including both internal departments and external partners.
- Adaptability: Comfortable navigating frequently changing project schedules, site conditions, and priorities.

- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for clear and effective interaction with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Construction Knowledge: Familiar with fixture assembly, installation techniques, and general construction processes.
- Material Diversity Knowledge: Proven experience working with a variety of materials such as wood, metal, acrylic, fabrics, tile and electrical components.
- Document Literacy: Capable of reading and interpreting construction documents, including plans, specifications, spreadsheets, and shop drawings.
- Negotiation & Decision-Making: Strong negotiating skills and the ability to make informed decisions and deliver clear direction to team members.
- Self-Motivation: Highly driven, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Client-Centric Focus: Deep understanding of client expectations and quality standards, with a commitment to delivering excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry-Specific Experience: Prior experience in the woodworking industry, with a focus on retail and architectural millwork.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Contracting Experience: Previous experience working with or managing construction contracting processes and vendors.
