Hour Status: 25 hours/week, M, T, W, F 8AM-1PM & Th 3PM-8PM
Extra Availability: Two (2) Tuesday’s per month – 6:30 AM start-time; must also be available for occasional weekend and evening food-drives/site tours as scheduled.
Summary: The Bilingual Support Assistant provides front-line support to food shelf clients by assisting with intake, client navigation, and general operations in both English and a second language. This entry-level position serves as a floater between two distribution sites and a mobile food unit, ensuring consistent, respectful, and accessible service for individuals and families seeking food assistance. The role is ideal for someone who is community-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, people-centered environment. The role also supports the development and maintenance of bilingual client-facing materials to improve access and understanding for the community. (MFS) Position Requirements:
1. Bilingual in English and Spanish
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Ability to work with diverse populations in a respectful and nonjudgmental manner.
4. Dependable, flexible, and willing to work at multiple locations.
5. Able to stand/sit to complete tasks and frequently lift 50 pounds.
6. Must be comfortable working with diverse populations and exhibit professionalism and respect for all.
7. High school diploma/GED
8. Must have intermediate computer, math, and reading skills.
9. Attention to oral and written detail.
10. Maintain accurate records
11. Experience in translating and development of bilingual materials
12. Proficient in communicating, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
13. Must be flexible and able to balance the needs of various interactions in a fast-paced atmosphere.
