Parent Life provides educational, social and spiritual resources designed to meet the specific needs of teen moms (21 and younger). We help them achieve their goals, complete their education and move toward self-sufficiency and positive parenting through mentoring relationships and an environment of healthy connections with peers. At each meeting teens will be able to participate in crafts, free dinner and childcare and free diapers and wipes.

Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings. Other Mentoring opportunities also available during the week, see below.
 

Parent Life Volunteer Needs:

Mentor Team: (Maximum of 2 teens per mentor, prefer 1:1 if possible)

• 1-year minimum commitment 
• Attend group meetings
• Two 1:1s a month with mentee. (outings, coffee, etc…)
• Attend volunteer trainings
• Help with transportation needs if able

Childcare Team: (Need: 1 Director* and minimum of 2 volunteers per nursery)

• Care for children/infants during meetings
• Clean room and sanitize toys and furniture after each use
• *Director Responsibilities: recruit, schedule and remind volunteers of shift, keep nursery stocked

Meal Team: (Need: 1 Director, many volunteers)

• Cook (or purchase) and serve dinner for teens and mentors for group meetings
• Make and deliver meals to new moms when assigned
• *Director Responsibilities: Organize volunteers to make/purchase meals for group meetings and meal trains. Communicate with the Parent Life director for needs.

Other Volunteer Options:

• Photographer: newborn photo shoot, family sessions 1x/year
• Speakers/Teachers: bring inspirational message, education to group meetings
• Drivers: Drive teen parent and child to meetings or appointments
