Ridgewater Names New Softball Head Coach

Ridgewater College is excited to name a new head softball coach for the 2025-26 academic year and season. Jordyn Swoboda has been hired to replace Callie Danielson as the new head coach for women’s softball.

Coach Swoboda is not new to the Warriors. She served as the assistant coach under Danielson for the last two seasons and has a variety of softball experiences in her background.  She is a graduate of Willmar High School, where she was a three-sport athlete (softball, basketball and tennis). She then went on to play softball for the College of St. Benedict while earning a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication.  She also does individual coaching for softball athletes and has been involved in a variety of other coaching for all ages and skill levels.

Swoboda is very committed to helping to continue to build on the foundation Danielson started. “I am excited to continue promoting a competitive and positive culture and to contributing to program success both on and off the field.” Being well-connected to the local softball community will certainly be an asset.

“We, at Ridgewater, thank Coach Danielson for her two years of service to our program and wish her well as she welcomes her second child later this year,” said Heidi Olson, Ridgewater College dean of students. “We are grateful that Jordyn was interested in stepping up to lead the team and are excited to watch her continue to build on past successes. Coach Swoboda demonstrates the type of energy and commitment that we believe will do great things for our student athletes and for growing our women’s softball program.”
