We are looking for a dedicated and talented Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for conducting general maintenance, repairs, and preventive care for manufacturing facility equipment. Additional duties include property and grounds maintenance. All tasks must be conducted in adherence to EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations.
Working Environment: The maintenance department operates in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting. This role requires the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and balancing. Additionally, frequent stooping, kneeling, and crawling are essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
The Details
- Maintain facilities and equipment by following diagrams, prints, operations manuals and manufacturer's instructions
- Survey facilities and maintain systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and power tools
- Review completed work for quality and compliance with requirements
- Participate in meetings, training and seminars to advance skills and work efficiently
- Continually maintain and promote a strong positive relationship with coworkers and management
- Adhere to Goebel’s Core Values and all safety and quality requirements
- Report damage, defects and safety related issues to Shop Supervision immediately
- Follow preventative maintenance recommendations of equipment manufacturers and company
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, snow removal, etc.)
- Install and maintain dust collection, ventilation, refrigeration and other systems
- Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs as needed
- Work with IT or outside vendors to troubleshoot equipment computer and/or network connectivity issues
- Repair faulty equipment or recommend outside vendor solutions and/or replacements
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance needed and the completion dates/times associated with the project
- Order, repair and/or replace defective parts in machines or mechanical devices, using both hand and power tools
- Support installations and plant layout revisions
- Initiate purchase requisitions for machines, parts, supplies, tooling and maintenance vendors
- Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
The Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician
- Proficient use of meters and diagnostic tools
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, woodworking production equipment and general building maintenance
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience with ERP, MES, or other business management software a plus
- Automation experience a plus
- Manual dexterity and critical thinking skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- High school diploma or equivalent with not less than 3 years of relevant maintenance experience
