Lifeguard: Starting Pay $14.79 per hour Supervise swimming activities at the aquatic center and enforce policies, guidelines, and safety procedures in order to ensure a safe and family friendly environment. Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress and administer CPR in emergency situations. Assist in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment. Must be a certified lifeguard and 15 years of age or older by May 2025.
Swim Lesson Instructor: Starting Pay $15.28 per hour Teach individuals and groups of students of various ages and skill levels how to swim, ensuring water safety and providing a positive learning experience while demonstrating proper swimming techniques, evaluating progress and adapting lessons to meet individual needs. Lifeguard certification is not required to teach lessons. Instructors must be 16 years of age or older.
Head Lifeguard: Starting Pay $16.52 per hour Supervise, mentor and provide work direction to lifeguards while ensuring pool rules and policies are implemented and enforced with a focus on creating a safe and welcoming aquatic center. Oversee the opening and closing of the aquatic center, daily cleaning duties, manage day to day scheduling issues, monitor weather conditions, implement lifeguard trainings and work closely with supervisors to ensure a safe and professional environment. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Aquatic Center Attendant: Starting Pay $14.28 per hour Manage aquatic center admissions and sales, perform daily cleaning tasks, monitor the lobby and locker rooms areas, assist in the concession area during high volume times and manage the top of the water slides as needed. Must be 15 years of age or older.
Concessions Attendant: Starting Pay $14.28 per hour Prepare and sell food and beverage items at the Aquatic Center and/or Roberts Park. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and organized work place, track inventory, clean and maintain concession equipment, maintain a clean pool deck and picnic area, and work closely with the Concession Manager to maintain a high standard of service. Must be 15 years of age or older.
Parks Maintenance: Starting Pay $16.52 per hour Responsible for maintenance work assigned to city parks and recreation areas, involving grounds, facilities and athletic fields. Must by 18 years of age or older by May 2024. Work up to 40 hours per week.
Seasonal positions typically begin in May and end in September, unless otherwise noted. Scheduled shifts include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. The Hutchinson Aquatic Center is open 7 days per week. It is an outdoor facility, requiring work in all types of weather conditions.
